I would have sworn there was a red sweater. There wasn’t. Which made me wonder: if my brain can confidently invent something that never existed, what else have I been certain about that wasn’t quite true?
I've been both the betrayed and the betrayer.
And after living on both sides of betrayal...
I'd rather be betrayed.
Not because betrayal doesn't hurt.
It does.
But wounds eventually become scars.
The weight of knowing you became someone who hurt another human being...
That can stay with you for a very long time.
Communication is never optional.
If we don't intentionally communicate, people will still receive a message.
Our silence communicates.
Our body language communicates.
Our timing communicates.
And when communication leaves a blank...
Someone will fill it.
